Two of the Midwest’s premier emerging singer songwriters - Folk / Americana singer-songwriter banjo player Kelly Hunt and singer-songwriter/guitarist Una Walkenhorst combine efforts on a unique collaboration show punctuated by great songs, great live performances and two vivid, breakout artistic identities. The pair will be joined by multi-instrumentalist special guest Stas’ Heaney.
Kelly Hunt’s debut album “Even The Sparrow” hits national press, radio and distribution May 17 with a pre-release single of the song “Across The Great Divide” and album preorders available May 3. Press previews of “Across The Great Divide” May 2 in Bluegrass Situation, “Nothin’ On My Mind” May 8 in Glide Magazine and “The Men of Blue and Grey” May 9 in The Southern Sounding are already locked with reviews in No Depression, Rolling Stone Country and more expected before the street date. Kelly & Staś will be on tour in support of the album throughout 2019.
Una Walkenhorst released her debut album SCARS in 2014, promptly loaded up her ’97 Honda Civic and took off on a year and a half tour of North America in support. Since then she has opened for Bela Fleck at the Folk Alliance International Conference; played NPR’s "Best of Kansas City" concert for her 2018 Tiny Desk Contest entry; toured Norway promoting Bob & Una Walkenhorst’s album, For Tomorrow; and after a city-wide vote, was awarded 2018 Song of the Year by 90.9 The Bridge for the title track, which she penned.
